Spring has sprung, and it is a great time to get your semi-trailer ready for the season. After a year of hard work, your trailer deserves some maintenance. You can do a lot of the minor maintenance yourself. And you can always come to us for any questions and/or major maintenance. Our service shop has the latest equipment, and our experienced service team has all the necessary knowledge about your trailer. This means you can be confident that your trailer is in good hands and will be completely ready for the season!

Read on for a number of tips to make your trailer’s extension mechanism slide better and to get it completely ready for spring.

  • Remove the inspection hatch at the rear of the trailer regularly and check the positioning of the hoses, cables and energy chain. The rear part of the chain is sensitive to wear. Check that the chain is intact and that the hoses are properly curled.
  • Regularly check the functioning of the locking pins on both sides of the trailer. These can get stuck, preventing the trailer from sliding. Locking pins that do not function smoothly can pose a risk, with the beam of the trailer not or insufficiently locked.
  • Regularly sliding the trailer in and out prevents sticking due to rust and dirt. Be sure not to use lubricants, because they will cause dirt to stick.
  • Rinse the beam with water. Set the trailer slightly sloping to the rear. Remove the inspection hatch at the rear and place a water hose with adequate capacity at the front in one of the holes in the beam. Rinse the beam thoroughly to remove dirt and sand.
